Shri Chandradeep Kumar Jha, Deputy Director General (DDG), Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India

Shri Chandradeep Kumar Jha (ISS:2000) has over two decades of distinguished service in various key positions within the Government of India. He holds a Master's Degree in Statistics from the University of Delhi. Currently, he is spearheading inter alia the coordination and data analysis efforts to enhance financial policies and systems in the DFS. Throughout his career, he has made significant efforts for contributions in the areas of data analysis, coordination, monitoring, supervision and policy formulation. His expertise covers a wide range of areas including international cooperation in statistical matters, national statistical system reforms, ease of doing business, industrial development, infrastructure project monitoring and the implementation of key government initiatives related to his domain of assignment. Some of the major areas of his experience are as follows:

Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI): Engaged in international cooperation for statistical matters, working closely with global bodies like the UN Statistical Commission. Additionally, contributed to reforms in India's National Statistical System, coordination with various divisions of National Statistics Office (NSO), infrastructure project monitoring of central sector projects costing more than Rs. 150 Crore, performance monitoring of key infrastructure sector, and administrative/ legal matters of Indian Statistical Institute.

Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI): Key roles in the Ease of Doing Business initiative, Business Reform Action Plan of States/ UTs and development of critical infrastructure projects like the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT). He also oversaw CAPEX monitoring of major CPSUs and investment tracking for mega Central Sector Projects. He was associated with these works while in organisations of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA): Associated with the Civil Registration System, Sample Registration System, and Census 2011 while working in the office of Registrar General of India (RGI) and Census commissioner of India under the Ministry.
